Okay, it's a year later... I'm back wondering why I haven't changed much of the lame 'Happy Birthday' version I play for the kids (not sharing)! 😖  Used some different keys, couple different positions & some double stops... blah, blah, blah.  I haven't even tried any different rhythms for it 😔 not even some shuffle bowing & what I'm probably missing most... no cool groove.

Still gathering ideas, but I do like some aspects of everything in this thread.

I've had bad days when my playing felt like it sounds this way 😳, so I could probably play this on the fiddle!

Fiddlerman shared a great duet he played with Felix Manuel Perez Cuza

Don't know how I missed this one - from Alex DePue!

I definitely need to experiment more to come up with something fairly simple (within my capabilities), that could at least be memorable for my Grandkids.

ANYONE GET A LITTLE CREATIVE WITH THIS YET?  ...maybe add some tiddly bits or different groove to 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'?

Geez, I STILL never think of this until it's too late!

I suppose it would be different if all the Grandkids actually celebrated their Birthdays at our house, but they don't anymore. 😕

Thought I'd refresh this thread so at least I start thinking about how to create my own version of Happy Birthday.

Whew... there's a lot of inspiration here!
