I'm sure it will be fine.
For everyone, 100 videos mixed together will make it hard to hear any individuals. I'm sure the video will be great :)

Pierre, I've just sprended you 2 files. I hope they arrived OK. I'm sorry they aren't mp4 - I downloaded 2 programs to convert it, but none of them worked without buying the licence (as expected) and it was too expensive... My play at the files isn't excellent, I hope I won't spoil it to everybody. I'm feeling so sick... Have some health trouble.

Thanks for the project. hats_off

I got it Terezka. Thanks, it's great. Don't worry as I already converted it. I use MPEG Streamclip which is both free and works flawlessly.

MPEG Streamclip Windows Version

For right now we have 10 different parts and 5 players. Let's get on it. :)

wow, this is a great project :) read about it only a couple of days ago. now, as I am a beginner on the violin - have been playing only for a couple of months, no flats so far, but being a flutist I know how they 'work' - I really would love to participate! are you still waiting to get 100 videos? or have you changed your mind about that in the meantime?

Folks - work is getting on top of me (you can tell by the lack of my posts with attempts at humor) - but I couldn't resist the reference to "flats" indeed - so - joke - and not a very good one at that -

Q: Why should a banana skin on the pavement/sidewalk remind you of Thaxted ?

A: Because if you don't see sharp, you will be flat....

In the words of Homer - DOH!facepalm - I am so VERY VERY sorry about that one....

Bill

EDIT : Oh - and hello Eva, new member ! WELCOME ABOARD !  You'll find the two extremes here - detailed technical discussions on the mechanics of playing, great learning experience and examples from the boss ( FM ) and the more advanced folks, and, sadly, from myself and others, the occasional bit of off-the-wall attempt at humor when all we really want to do is chop up the violin for fire-wood ( I exaggerate, but only slightly  roflol)

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

And then there are us that actually do chop up your violins and make monsters..

Welcome the insane world of strings.. Check your sanity at the door..

With violins there is no fretting over the music.

@coolpinkone  - same here - BAD time with work last few weeks...  I have tomorrow morning dedicated to laying down a good take ...  OR ELSE ! LOL   (and I'm only going for the v2 or 3, or 4 - v1 just gets the better of me right now - I KNOW the melody - but damned if I can get the timing anything like correct yet...  the curse of  a "play by ear" player..... precisely....  well - maybe I am too self-critical - but I know it's not good - more practice needed on that)... I'll see how it goes

Go for it CPO !  See yah in the finished production if I'm reasonable enough crossedfingerscrossedfingerscrossedfingersto be included !

MadBill. I am kicking myself for trying the V1 part. I am kicking myself for not having my violin friend/partner record it to tempo for me.  I am kicking myself for having issues with playing with a recording.  But I am still having fun and this is the most beautiful and endearing song for me.

I really wanted to do this on my own, you know? I just wanted to see that about myself, where I am?  How I am doing?  I wanted to be given a piece to work on and be "orchestra" ready.   I still have dreams of being in some kind of simple orchestra someday.   (shhhhhhh.. don't pop my bubble)

So as a sheet reader I can tell you that I am not good with keeping time... (apparently).

Anyway.. thanks for your confidence.. Sending a BUNCH right back to you.

Cheers, your fellow orchestra bud!!  wooooo hooooooo

I'm sure you will have time. The submissions are coming in real slowly and I'll keep everyone updated on how many I have at all times then I'll give a warning before mixing. :)

Glad to have you onboard Eva.dancing

I've gotta get going on this one. I keep putting it off but I hate to miss out on another group project.

One obstacle for me is that I'm just not familiar with this piece, so I need to find a good recording and listen to it a lot...in the car, etc.

I'm glad you're getting submissions...it puts the pressure on to practice.lumpy-2134

@Fiddlerman,

I just finished Sprending V2 and V3 to you. Hope they got there alright.

If there's any problems with them, let me know.

Looking forward to the final mix.smile

Bill and Toni ... we are our own worst critics aren't we?  I've practised for months on this one, but it's still not good enough!

Hoping to sprend (not good enough) parts today, but I will keep playing this one, it's beautiful.

Keep going guys ... we will be awesome, as usual.  I think Pierre has a little magic up his sleeve because I never hear my dreadful mistakes in the final edit.

New member here.  I can hardly wait to hear the final results.  This is arguably the coolest piece of classical music on the planet (pun intended)!

Will be poking through some of the forums as I have time.  See ya around!

Cheers,

Jim (a.k.a. the "10-man")
