Pierre, please, could you publish the Christmas project in October od early November? I'm not sure I could take part in December. hats_off

Hello Fiddlerman ... I'm new to the site - love it. I made two videos but do not know what the process is to upload them. I tried the conversion program I saw in a prior post but sorry, couldn't get it to work - maybe Windows 8 or probably me. My files are .wmv files (pretty large 15 MB) - should I just attach them to a post? ~~Thanks

Hi Vickie, and welcome to this awesome community.

I'm not sure about what sort of files Pierre would accept, he will no doubt answer that one himself.  The big files can be sent by 'sprend'.  There's a link somewhere on the site.

Sorry I'm so vague, but welcome anyway, and we really want you to join our projects.

Robyn

If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

Thanks Robyn - I did find the page discussing 'sprend' with Pierre's address so will get that downloaded.

Use a file uploading site such as sprend.com, sendthisfile.com, dropsend.com
There are many and use this address as the receiver. pierre@fiddlerman.com
Note, please do not email the file directly to my address.

Well, 24 but actually no I wouldn't. LOL Sorry but I expected many more submissions. This is the slowest one in a long time and probably because I didn't give a deadline. :(

I'll add my 4 submissions eventually to be a part of it as well as I always do so perhaps we can see it as 28. :)

I know you're being positive as always and I really appreciate it. You live, you learn. Next time I need deadlines. I just wanted this to be the biggest one of all.

@Pierre it will be big.   It will.

I  will get something.  And if it sucks too bad.. just send me a private notice and I will keep working on it until  it is usable.

It is my favorite project so far. :)

DOH!  I submitted a v2 part but "wimped out" on v1 (for reasons I've probably already mentioned) - but I've been listening a goodly number of times to it now, and I finally have the proper melody and timing in my mind ( and NOT the tune I have whistled to myself on many occasions over the years - which is sort of "changed" from the original  what with my own whistling and my added trills and unusual timing variations (it just happens when there's a tune in my mind....) - and because that is what was "stuck in my mind" it stopped me playing it as it should be played.... hmmm... LOL ! ).

Anyway, I have it in my head now, and since it seems like I still have time to submit - I'll go for it this weekend although I suspect I'll drop the last 16 bars an octave to make it easier for me - my shifting isn't quite up to the mark yet - but I'll see how it goes....  But at least we'll get another part clocked-up... ( yes, I did write "clocked" LOL  - excuse my strange sense of humor )

Once I get round to it, I'm also kind of thinking I may post one of my practice shots in the "self critique" thread - for no other reason than to let you all hear what sounds my limited ability can draw-forth from my new FM Concert - which I like a lot (OK, we Scots are given to understatement - "like it a lot" ?  -no -  I actually love it!), and which as yet has had no public airing....  Aye, that's a good idea, a plan, and a target...  I like plans and targets....  yeah...

@Fiddlerman - mentioning plans and targets - yes a deadline - I would tend to agree - probably a good idea - from my own perspective that would have surely concentrated my mind and got me having a shot at v1 long before now and breaking-the-chains-that-bound-me from attacking the v1 part... when I first tried it I gave up after a day or so - for the life-of-me I just couldn't get "my" version and timing out of my mind and thought "this is way too difficult" - and of course it is not really...(weird or what?  anyway...)

and @coolpinkone - the 6-day working-week sucks - my worst ever time was six days as "one-week-on-night-shift and one-week-normal" - you just never get into a rhythm - and that lasted for 3 months - that REALLY hurt especially over the summer months when this far north it is bright come 3:30 am - I felt like I was on another planet (Jupiter?  It could have been Planet Zog for all I knew...)  - but chin-up lass - things can only get better - work on it when you can!

Bill
