Hello fellow fiddlers and violinists, my name is Tara and I'm from the Chicago area. I've on,y been playig. Violins seriously for a handful of weeks, but I look forward to learning more and more about this instrument here and as I go forwards with my self-teaching. My plan for the future is to practice and to go for a lesson every few months to check that I am not developing any bad habits as I go.

That's all I have for now, happy to be here!

Hello and welcome to the stringed insanity, you will find a lot of helpful people here.

And some great tutorials on playing violin. I too am a beginner and have found this site a great help.

Hope you enjoy the violin as much as we do.

With violins there is no fretting over the music.

 Welcome to the forum.

I am so happy to meet you.   Good luck with the forum and all the videos.  A lesson to keep in check is AWESOME.

If  you have questions there are a lot on the fiddle chat to help you and here on the forum.

Feel safe to post  your early beginning videos.... I think those that post and stay connected do the very best.

Good luck.. happy Playing.

Welcome from Alaska.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Welcome aboard Tara!  You'll find no end to the useful resources here.  Never hesitate to ask questions - even if they sound foolish to you ( I know my questions were like that - and often still are! )

Enjoy your journey with the violin !

The name, "Tara", caught my eye, it's my oldest granddaughter's name.

As other's have said this is a great place to learn and gain musical knowledge with all friendly folks here.
