Hello there, I am one of those people who is a little touchy about who knows my name on the internet so you can just call me Musica! I am a music Major and I'm about to graduate with my BA in music performance. I'm a vocalist but the violin has always been an instrument that I have wanted to learn how to play and I am wondering where can I get a violin on a college students budget that I can learn on and just play for fun? Can anyone help me?

Welcome Musica! Where are you located? There are many low cost violins out there. I'm a little goofy with instruments cause I need to play and compare them myself. Within 2 months of playing violin I bought 5. The very first violin I bought was the black metallic Cecilio violin. It will cost you only $99 us. check out Fiddlermans reviews at kkmusicstore.com. I have bought drums, a trumpet, saxophones too from them and did have a couple violin returns to them but a great company that will work with you.

Hiya Musica I can relate to your reluctance on using your real name on the internet. : )
I am one of those people who got a violin off of KK music store (eBay). I'm happy with it for the price paid and all the extra stuff they throw in with their violins. I've had my fiddle for a month and it's not fallen apart yet!
You can also try local pawn shops and your local Goodwill. Sometimes you can find really nice instruments there, but it all depends on what people decide to donate.
FiddlerMan has reviewed a bunch of the Cecilio and Mendini violins on his YouTube channel: 1stfiddlerman if you want to get an idea about some of the different models they have to offer.
On "Cheap eBay violins" … Just tell people they are like a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. With a little love, and some practice, they too can be made beautiful.
