My name is Kat - I'm an engineering student in Los Angeles.
Started learning Suzuki method with a private teacher when I was about 5, continued until I went to high school but stopped playing because the high school I was going to didn't have orchestra.
Last year I took a one unit violin class just for kicks and found a new appreciation for the instrument. My formal training consisted of only Suzuki songs, and Bach Partita II which I learned in my one unit class. Now I want to start experimenting with other styles. Started watching fiddlers on youtube and found myself here!
I love practicing/playing but I've made it a point to leave my instrument at home while I'm in school because I know I would get way too distracted with it here and my grades would suffer.
Anyway, that's about it! I'm here to listen, watch, learn nuances of different styles, and hopefully create my own styles and improvise a little bit! Love all the videos and glad to be here!
Welcome. Yes, yes, I am always practicing/procrastinating doing something else.
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.
