I just signed up. Nothing to play (yet) but I'm going to need help from the get-go so here I am.
I have zero experience with string instruments and only a couple of weeks with an organ when I was in 5th grade. Other than that, nada when it comes to music except singing along with the radio while driving.
About me:
I live in California and I write books in my spare time. I've been published in the past but that book isn't on the market any longer. My current novel in progress has a main character who plays in an orchestra and the research into that so I know what I'm writing about has inspired me to learn to play for myself.
I have questions, but I'll post those in the learning forum.

I haven't ordered anything yet because I need to get this book finished first and I'm hoping for a black Friday/Christmas sale on a Fiddlershop Artist. I can live without the sale, but I do need to get the current book done and into the Beta Reader/editing phase before I take on another challenge.
I am looking forward to doing this. If I can. I have the Suzuki book 1 already and I've been watching videos. I now can figure out what notes are on the staff and what fingers go with them for the first measure of Twinkle!!!

welcome to the forum, post any question you like, if You want to know about orchestras try to get Andrewh to talk to you, he has played in several and has great experience. Fiddlerman himself is a maestro;) or maybe a divine master

Sounds like a pretty good start! Welcome to the Forum!
Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.
