Discussion/Interview with Martin Hayes about archived recordings and other stuff.. Theres a short film at the beginning Martin Hayes put together. funny story story somewhere around 40:00-ish where Martin was talking about assuming the players he listened to on old recordings were passed, and then meeting one in travels. some discussion about how he transposes tunes to "darker" keys..also later a Q & A section.

I think everyone has a handful of those albums. desert island albums or music i guess. I havent seen this interview or maybe juat forgot watching..not because its forgetable or anything..just because i watch alot of them... ANYWAY... Tommy Tiernan right off the bat list the TWO albums that id have in my desert island list from Martin. AND he referwnces that one track that is SO good on the live from Seattle.
also in the interview...Martin talks about how the sailors bonnet recording he did came about...also a fun story.

I am a fan of Martin Hayes, but also MANY other fiddlers, musicians & groups. I can't keep track of them all - so thank you for pointing this video out (haven't seen it)!
I'll try to listen this evening.
Sry. just trying to understand...
are you saying because you have such a long list of fiddlers and groups youre a fan of ..that you didnt notice this video?
Or are you saying youll make time for it but youre other fandom interests may get in the way.
😁
It showed up in my list for some reason Sunday on a long drive back home. Was listening to whatevwr music documentaries or panel type discussions i could find and poof.. there it was. Yah know how it goes.. some Joe Rogan.. this video.. British broadcasting.. TG4..

I do NOT get any notifications from anyone, or anything, anymore - not even my email, so appreciate you pointed this out.
I just didn't have time to watch it at THAT moment I saw your post - of course I got to it, enjoyed watching AND picked up some great tips! Funny no one remembered Jay Ungar, until after the fact. Hate to say it, I can't remember how long/exactly the time frame I was subscribed to Martin's lessons (which were great). ...jeez - last year? Some things I remember him talking about, maybe elsewhere.
My music interests are ever-expanding, but it's life that gets in my way.
