Hi everyone I'm teaching myself to play violin so far so good. I have only picked up the violin a few times, but this morning was my first try at fidderlman's intonation samples. I tried the head phones with only one ear connected :), but for some reason that caused my ear to go numb. Which is odd since I use headphones everyday. I have worked around this problem by connecting my computer speakers into the phone ( my mp3 player) and that worked a treat. The pitch of some of the drones do not match the G string, but I got use to that and really enjoyed the session. Wish I could of done more but I dare not push the wifes patience
I am working on the "Pieces on the G-String" exercises so far. Looking forward to getting to lightly row your boat.

Mangomagic, we should probably start a thread about how to keep the wife (other half) happy while practicing. LOL
Perhaps if she was also learning to play at the same time?
She is reallly good at music. She can read sheet music and play by ear. I am hopping soon we can play together. I saw some music on your site for that, but its no problem for her, I'm not there yet, but working on it. I think we will start with Merry had a little lamb and work on from there
Having the wifes play an instrument with you is a great idea.
Playing together is the way to staying together
