Greetings all,
i am a beginner violinist and i recently switched to a better violin which costs about 1300 $.and it has a oiled varnish and the person who sold me the violin was a luthier and said the varnish is very sensitive and take care of the instrument by cleaning so as instructed i did clean each day with a dry cloth entire violin. I start to see some fingerprints appear on back of the violin which i cannot remove its like sunken into the varnish. This make me very nervous to touch the violin and practice it would damage the violin. I can see a big difference in my playing compared to the violin which i used to own. What should i do to overcome of this fear and how do i remove those marks is that a normal thing. Your help is highly apricated .

Congratulations on your new violin!
I would just contact the Luthier you bought your violin from, directly. He should know everything about it.
You certainly don't want to be afraid to touch your instrument!
I don't have that issue, mine is Carbon composite - virtually indestructible. (lol)
