Has anyone ever used a study book? I was looking at The Bach Cello Suite No. 1 Study Book, August 6, 2017, by Cassia Harvey.

It looked like there were lessons on how to do specific sections or techniques for sections. I was thinking that might be good. I do have the Bach Cello Suites book. This would be a guide, I am thinking. Any thoughts or experiences with instrument study books for particular pieces? Has anyone any experience with this particular author?

Thank you.

I've never used a study book for any particular piece (I didn't even know they existed) but Cassia Harvey is excellent in general. Her instructional books tend to break down everything into tiny steps.

Thank you, Andrewh. That was extremely helpful. I will probably go ahead and get it.

I ordered this book and another by her for my violin. I have a dilly of a time with shifting on that.
