Hi Everybody!

In Bar 41 of this MY VERY FIRST ETUDE (LOL) there is a 0 above the C.  I am confused.  I would have thought that meant open string but....

Any clarification???

Thanks for whatever insight you can offer!

I take it you are not a violist? If so, open C is the lowest string.

Can you scan the etude and upload it here?

That is just a mistake. The 0 got moved over from the coming A. Sometimes with notation software if you haven't attached the characters to the actual note and rearrange the layout, the characters end up elsewhere.

I have the Sitt Etudes in book form (I like books better than downloads), and in Bar 41, I have the 0 over the A in the fourth beat.  To be honest, I don't really like the first Etude, I'm currently working on #6, which I like because I have to really work at it so that I don't annoy my neighbors too much!
