Legato vs. Portato - Tied Notes.
I'm painfully aware of how easy it is to rush tied notes. 😖 But, the importance of making a choice in the way they are bowed - is amazing!
Sometimes it's important to take a chance/revisit techniques you think you have mastered... only takes a couple minutes!
How to Play Tied Notes on Violin - Creative Violin
I try to take a moment, once in a while, to explore some material I might otherwise toss aside as, 'been there/done that'.
We all learn differently, e.g., say you have to take a reading comprehension test on several detailed paragraphs of written information. Did you find you retained all of the information, or only 'key' points? Maybe what you deemed 'key' points, at that moment, caused you to overlook info that you might benefit from right now!
Not a lot of people retain everything - and I think this is the same with learning to play our instrument. ...making a good point for having a teacher, if possible.
For me, I am helped by multiple views, approaches, and different explanations.
