I recently acquired an audio mixer program called MixPad and did comparisons with Audacity and Musecore as mixers/recorders.
Without getting technical, my go-to program became MixPad. I was trying to piece together a recording session using the best features from the different programs. But again, I found myself using MixPad the most. Great section for manipulating audio clips.
The attached file is one I just about "created" but the violin does sound mostly like real life with me playing. (I still can't hit high notes for a dXXX with my viola/violin.)
I know there is much more to MixPad than I used. It will take time. I can imagine many opportunities for learning by means of recordings.
The attachment is WAVE from MixPad exports. The MixPad default file is a very weird file type. This is church music as some will know but I'm not crusading!
When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
