You will definately become adept at violin, trust me. Remember you are doing this for yourself. I personally really like your arm movement, to me at least I think it looks really good, Heifetz held his arm high, take a look at him on you tube, he was technically unsurpassed.
You can become as good as you want to be.

It's possible to play really well with a high elbow, but it increases the chance of injury. I used to play with a high elbow, and got into a semi-pro orchestra with that high elbow, but also suffered from upper back pain that went away when I changed my bowing technique and kept my elbow lower.
Also note that Heifetz used a Russian bow hold, so his hand and arm mechanics are different. The Russian bow hold does call for a somewhat higher elbow, but not to the point where the arm is pressing down into the string; the arm must be higher because the wrist is higher. Heifetz's elbow still only rarely rose above his wrist. I would not try to emulate his arm without a good understanding of the rest of his bowing mechanics. Just saying "Heifetz held his arm high" is something I would consider extremely risky advice.
(Edited to elaborate more on Heifetz and why emulating his arm is risky)

And there’s me thinking I’d got my elbow down a bit! It’s on my radar! I’ll have a look for that violinist. I watched the Annie’s song tutorial last night. I’m trying to stick with my concerto but i will have a go. Al so no printer ink- which is making me stick with my concerto. Also what’s ‘colour ‘ on the violin?
