Suggestions For Strategy For Continuing Violin on My Own
I want to keep my violin going in my own and would like to know how to tackle issues I know I have in an organized manner. My learning process really needs structure.

Some great tips here. I came by to look for help to improve intonation (my goal this month) and found this thread. Thanks.. Gotta bookmark it for future reference.

I've thought of using my digital tuner and eyeball it during play. I seem to recall some notes on that in the past but can't find it now. Does anyone recall?

@Ripton I believe I mentioned it at one point somewhere. Might have been mynthread about removing the tapes. Can’t remember exactly. It was probably mentioned elsewhere, too. I will look for you.

I have the D’addario little tuner, Micro something maybe?, clipped to the violin next to the neck. It is a low profile tuner with quick response.

@Ripton  This link might bring you to the thread you mentioned about using a tuner to keep you on target:

Look at the posts by “Cid”. I think the tuner gets mentioned somewhere around the reply post or a little after, that mentions “Lullaby”. If this isn’t it, try a search in the search box.

Ripton,

Might try the app Intonia for your smart phone very cool app to watch and record your intonation, I like drones my self to play against not only  scales but you can use them on songs also.

It was so neat at my cello lesson Wednesday, my instructor played a drone note while I played a song I was having issues with. First experience playing with a drone. It was surprisimgly helpful.
