In the Wohlfahrt etudes here: Wohlfahrt, in etude number 15 there is some musical notation I'm not familiar with.  There are dark separated bars below the bars that connect the notes as 1/8 notes.  Does anybody know what these indicate?

16th notes. You play each note twice. This is done to avoid writing each note twice. Easier to read too.
If there were two separations/slashes, you would play each note 4 times playing 32nd notes.

I did a self study on musical notation for about 4 months. Not an expert obviously, but even to the lay person, some of them were quite remarkable and most assuredly genius. Others, WOW.
