Well, I'm almost done with my last-minute Christmas shopping - usually try to make sure some form of music hits the list for all the Grandkids.  Been kind of a strange year... had to jump from having quality time with 2-3 kids at one time, to ALL 7!    Picture a one-room Montessori schoolhouse & everyone has a sugar and/or caffeine rush.

...a whole new level of multitasking for me. bd4491ee22f58b91975529220e99d934.jpg

I've been working on ways to help ensure my Grandkids don't get stuck in a box, thinking in terms of NOT learning about playing just one specific musical instrument, but to see similarities in  'groups'.  So anything I can do to push this idea, make it easier for them, is helpful - like the idea of tuning any string instrument in 5ths.

Previously, I mentioned "I really like the sound of acoustic guitar, but I'm still attracted to the idea of tuning a ukulele & banjo like violin/viola".

NEVER even considered tuning a guitar in 5ths!
I LOVE IT!

Tenor Guitar!?

Woo Hoo!

Fishing line... essential survivalist gear. (lol)

Jeez, that sounds awful good - the low C is really hard to resist!

...if you are thinking of adding new tones to your playing this Christmas, check out the Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo & Ukulele Collection at the Fiddlershop!

Hey, it's okay to STAND OUT in the crowd!
