Don't you hate it when you know you need to look at some music but keep putting it off.
I know that I have to look at some pops music for this coming weekend but am busy playing another pops job. The thing is that I would rather play Kreisler, Bach or Paganini at home.
I know that I will find the time at the last moment, and I know that it will go well, it's just that if I could bring myself to doing it now I could relax and feel better the rest of the week.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Same here! Laugh

I'm like this with lots of things in life - and I hate it. I create lots of stress in my life for no reason. Isn't it easy to find the most silly excuses for not doing what we are supposed to?

OK, The gig is this Saturday and I've only found the time to run though it once. At least I am more at ease realizing what I am dealing with. But why can't I start earlier?

I am like this...sometimes!

I started a piano quintet some months ago with four professional musicians. In the beginning, I practiced lots and lots on my part...bu then, as we had rehearsals so seldom, and most often they were cancelled (last one was two months ago) I lost motivation to practice on this. Tomorrow, we are supposed to go through the mov. 1-3, and I have not recovered the practice!

So, a bit later today...I will try to go through them all...if I can find the sheets. I am totally horrified.

LOL, Been there. Good luck. At least it is just a rehearsal right? Remember to enjoy it too.

I can say i definitely do the same thing, though not usually musically related, since i just play for myself. It really is ridiculous some of the stupid excuses that i come up with not to do things. hahaha, but then i find i always preform best (at work, not really musically) under pressure so i guess its my own way of making sure i do a good job WHEN i get around to doing it. :D at least thats what i tell myself to justify it!
