Earlier, I watched a video of a Double Bassist play a little Classical music... meh.

THEN, I caught a glimpse of Adam Ben Ezra!

I'm VERY impressed, AND 5 STRINGS - woo hoo!

"Me, myself and the upright bass" - TEDx Talks.

I didn't know that a Double Bass was strung kinda backwards & in 4ths (E₁,A₁,D₂,G₂)!!!

Is the 5th string is a C₃?

What is B octave number on piano below C₁ - B₀?

@Fiddlerman -

If more people see this video, there's going to be a crazy mob of people ascending on the Fiddlershop looking for a 5-string Double Bass!

 You stocked up?  🤗

...not showing the Grandkids. 🤭

I'm assuming the accustic bass and electric bass are tuned the same, I play electric 5 string tuned B0, E1, A1, D2, G2

@elcbk. CHACHING... they sound great though!   theres something about having an upright playing that rounds out everything.  I cheat and have a vst plugin from toontrack ill use sometimes.   Also have a guitarcenter Dean fretted acoustic thats fun to add in.  has a pretty good sound for what it is.

@Mark -

Thanks!

Not a one..... Only 4 stringed basses. I guess we'll need to make some new investments. lol

Well, guess 4 strings on a Double Bass are great, too!

Especially seeing/listening to what Stanley Clarke does playing one (I thought he only played Bass Guitar)!

This is an old video, but man - talk about FLYING FINGERS OF STEEL!

@ELCBK That was fantastic! Jer almost got one as a pawn shop save. I told him definitely no room, no ability to play learn it, Those strings are large and expensive. We said good bye to it and told it we wished it a good home, not the burn pile.

I loved that this bass was lovingly used. Simply beautiful, and very talented bassist.
