Howdy ,

Sooo , having gotten the Irish Tenor Banjo up and running the first tune i tried was Dixie ...but didn't sound too good with mandolin / violin fingering ...will try mandola / cello fingering per a link ElisaDV was kind enough to give me in chat fer this tune latter ...a bit disappointing ..bunny-headbang

Not to be discouraged , i then tried Oh , Suzanna in mando / violin fingering and it sounds fine ...will be interesting to see which tunes i already know that will work without using new fingering ...this is a fun endeavor and can only lead to a better understanding of music ...i hope ...

Any suggestions are welcome ...guess i need to try Irish Washer Woman next , 'Eh ?violin-1267And fer those hardware folks , here's a close up of the friction tuners ..IMG_2764.JPGImage Enlarger

Yea, I want to hear that old tenor banjo too.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy, I'm just curious about what it sounds like.

Hey , Welp , i haven't had any luck putting stuff on u tube yet ....computer illiterate , etc . and the last couple of videos i put up direct of fiddlin' used 1/3 of my monthly gb's each and took folks around 45 minutes to load so i deleated them until i can get a handle on u tube or some other way of posting ...

But if y'all don't mind a very short version and the download time , i could do a couple lines of Oh , Suzanna fer yer critique ...got yer ear plugs handy ...i'm not very good at this yet ....disclaimer ...not responsable fer ear damage .bunny-headbangviolin-1267..

Tenor banjos are beautiful. I knew a hoarder who was having a big clear-out, but the one thing she refused to get rid of, to my disappointment, was her tenor banjo.
