Its really hard to say. With my work, I tend to play 2 to 4 times a day. I do travel some and I keep a cheapo violin shaped noise maker in my vehicle. I stop at rest stops and play in the back or out by the trees for 15 minutes or so at a shot. (rain or shine) Then, again during the night most days. Once in a while I get a wild hair and get more then an hour in a setting, but not too often.

There's no category that describes my practice days, which is some days I might only get in 10 minutes, while other days I might get in 3 or 4 hours. Some days I don't get any practice time. There are times when I might go several days with no practice.

My practice schedule is about the same as Fiddle Chick's. Pretty inconsistent - practice when I can for how long I can. I now leave my fiddle out on a stand rather than in the case so I often pick it up just to practice a quick scale or run through a piece.

What I think Dennis was referring to was the first post on this thread. The Poll.
I agree, there should be hundreds of replies already. With 2000 visitors every day (no idea how many on the forum) polls like that should be very active.

I voted... and to clarify...I am in the one hour every day, except Friday, Sat and Sunday when I get my hours and sometimes 2.   :)

If I didn't have such a demanding job (time away from home).. I would play 3 hours every day.

One major milestone that I hit is that I don't get sore .. nothing hurts after a practice. ... (unless it is non stop swallowtail  or fast stuff.. )   Then I get tired and hot... but I don't get the pains I got the first year... when 20 minutes used to hurt. :)

I responded 15-45 but that's only when I get to practice.  It's not every day unfortunately and usually I can't get time until 9:30 or so - so practice only lasts until I am too tired to continue!

Midnight shift worker here so when I get home of a morning before the wife wakes up I lock my self in the down stairs bath room (and hope I don't wake the sleeping Bear, she kinda grumpy if she don't get her beauty sleep out) and practice for 45 to 90 mins then I'm off for a nap.

First, I practice on and off most days for about 5-15 minutes at at time about every hour or two -- whenever I need to take a break from work related stuff, which is tedious and irritating enough, to require frequent mental decompression breaks.

Second I imagine that the reason there aren't more votes is that unless topics get bumped frequently, they scroll off of the Recent Forum Posts sidebar and go into hibernation.

I voted for 15-45 minutes a day, but, to elaborate, I usually practice around 30-45 minutes on weekdays and (if I'm lucky) 60-90 minutes on weekend days. On days that I work from home, I might squeeze in another 15 minutes of fiddling at lunch time.

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

@Georganne - that looks like the "result" of the poll - like after you've voted - and I notice that the "15 to 45 minutes" result is highlighted - the highlighted option would reflect the choice you had made....

Odd -  try reloading this page and see how it comes up and if it's still the same, maybe bring it to admin's attention.    This was a poll I was unaware of, and I voted on it just a few mins ago, and it worked fine here.
