JohnG, Forum Family Member since April 16, 2021 - May you rest in peace ❤️

We lost a beloved member of our forum on January 31, 2023. JohnG has passed away. He will be truly missed. Here is a link to his obituary announcement.

https://www.grovememorialchape.....27194497#/

Here is a link to a Tribute Book for his family, for those of you who would like to add to it and add his Fiddle Talk Forum family to his tributes:

JohnG joined our family on the Fiddle Talk forum on April 16, 2021. The forum was honored and blessed to have him as a member.

JohnG was so giving of his knowledge on the forum. He helped whenever he could. He was so great at inspiring those of us who needed inspiring. We could always count on JohnG for that needed, "kick in the butt", or that feeling of, "you can do it". JohnG was a good man with a big heart.

Although I never met JohnG in person, I think I have a pretty good idea of what kind of man he was, and still is, in the hearts of many. JohnG was a man with a huge heart, a giving man, a man who would not give up, a man who truly loved his family, and his time on earth.

JohnG was a strong, loving man who will be missed by his family and friends, whether friends with whom he had direct contact, or those of us who loved him through the forum.

JohnG was a wonderful host to our beloved Traveller. He participated in Fiddlerman Group Projects, SharonC's Group Projects, had a wonderful blog, was always ready and willing to assist anyone on the forum. JohnG shared his wonderful viola journey here on the forum through his posts and videos.

JohnG's first Traveller Post, many posts followed with videos of him playing The Traveller.

It is post #2114

JohnG's Blog

https://fiddlerman.com/forum/f.....ing-world/

My first thought was to continue with some links to posts JohnG made, but I would rather open the door to other forum members to post links to some of their favorite posts to comments and videos posted by JohnG.

JohnG will be missed by everyone who knew him on the forum. The forum will miss him greatly, and new members will have his posts to learn from, and learn about him from. His knowledge and kindness will live in in the forum.

We love you, JohnG,

I was worried - he hadn't been posting.

So sad to hear this.

My life is certainly richer from knowing him here on the forum.

This is extremely bad news, I liked John even though I had never met him face to face. I admired his perseverance and the skill he had gained in such a short space of time, which I think was exceptional.

He will be sorely missed.

I get upset when this happens to any musician, the world goes a bit darker.

RIP

@SharonC -

Really appreciate you putting that together - any way to share that with his family?

Thank you.

@ELCBK  I've just added a shareable link in the post - if @Fiddlerman or @Mouse  has a contact email for his family.

I am thinking that the best way to reach out to the family is through the Tribute link in the second post of this topic. There is also a page where you can sign in as a guest. You provide your name, do not click that you attended in person, and then provide your name and address. Just follow the steps. From the information that was shared with me, there is no email address contact provided. I don't think they would want it posted on the forum, anyway.

I saw that SharonC has already left a memory in the Tribute, 2 other member, other than myself, have left a tribute and signed the guest book. Hope this helps.

Oh no, I had been worrying about him when I didn’t see him around. I really liked John, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy and I enjoyed our chats.

I'm going to miss John, he was a very sweet individual with a kind word for everyone, even as he both physical issues and dealing with his wife's health decline, John will be missed.

@JohnG Yes, I know the notice of being mentioned will not be seen, but it is more like talking to JohnG this way.

JohnG, I am finding I am missing you so much. I don't see you logged in, I don't see you adding to your forum. I used to read it when I just visited without logging. I miss the kindness of your posts, and I miss your loving perseverance with your viola!
