Awww.  I never got to see if the one I was betting on won or not.

Very interesting - they sure fight for a long time - definitely something we don't get to see in the streets in the US. I hope they made up in the end.blink

Wow, those two were having a serious match. It's amazing the way they lean back on their tails like that too.

Wish the camera could of stayed with them a little longer so we could see who won.....lol!

@Ferret - John, I just have to ask.....Is it common to see them in a residential neighborhood, or was that a rare occurrence?

@Feathers

It can happen where the city suburbs meet the countryside and on the outskirts of country towns. But you don't see them every day. And you don't usually see fights like that.

They can be quite dangerous if you upset them. Those feet have a large, sharp centre toe nail. And you may have noticed that they 'hold' their opponent with there 'arms' as they kick. And, as I said, they can get to over six foot tall.

They are really cute, at a distance rofl

@Ferret, Thanks!

It makes sense that they might wander in occasionally. And I can see why the person filming kept their distance.

I was also imagining stepping out to get the mail, and see this in your front yard......LOL!

Really cute at a distance indeed!rofl

An hour later ETA : They showed this on our local news tonightsmile

That is hilarious. Didn't realize they balanced on their tail while kicking. LOL
