Oh man @JohnG - awesome man, awesome for the short time playing!
Intonation just right (well, or good enough for any minor excursions not to be noticeable - playing fretless is NEVER, EVER 100% perfect (well, occasionally within human hearing-perception) - if that is even possible using a 5ths tuned instrument versus the ET ( I'm sure you must have a musical background, if not, it's the difference between "Just intonation/tuning" and the (to me, weird- although I of course understand WHY...) compromise of the 12th root of two "defining" musical intervals in currentday western music- but that's a whole other topic ! Let's not go there right now... LOLOL)
Yeah- Probably, around the same time of playing fiddle, in fact - I suspect in October or November of 2014 my first serious attempt at playing at 5 months-in - I played that very tune ( I refer to it as "Blow the man Down" ) for "International Talk Like A Pirate Day" (Google it, and check it out !!!!! Awesome fun- and JOIN UP FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT Yeah !!! ! - I won't hijack your post with the link to my take on it - that's not fair- I'll PM it to you for fun - because honestly - I too have a music background - wholly amateur and on other instruments - and the fiddle is my latest instrument - which I so wish I had taken that up 50+ years ago instead of guitar and kbds LOL)
Thanks again for posting - and never hold back - even if it is just a practise on something you find difficult, or struggle with - share and ask in the forum- you will get nothing but help and constructive critique from players of similar ability or better - (I say critique as distinct from "criticism" which tends to have a negative implication.... you know.. ) - and that's the only way I uncovered some of the difficulties/nuances/etc of playing on an unfretted instrument. Cool !
We only, as I recall, exchanged messages once on the chat thing - so, once again, a formal "Welcome to the Forum" - I'm sure you'll make the best of it !
Cheers, Billy

Ahh - expected to be away for a while, but still at home and just got the email notification of the post !
Nice, clean work there @SharonC, TY for sharing that ! Spot on !
That's the way it should be played! [ I often take liberties with tunes hahahaha and sometimes I suspect I deviate a bit too much ROFLOL - but that, as I say, was clean, concise, and right on the mark ] !
Well done !

I've reached 2 years playing my Mortimer!
This should be a happy occasion for me, but several tries at recording this were trashed because Madmartigan insisted on serenading me 🙄 - so, lucky I got this one.
Just watch out for the wild hare...🐇 (lol)
My version of "King of The Fairies" and "Pride of Petravore".
I've really been having a blast here!
WHO'S NEXT? 🤗
...not ready for prime time, yet. 🙄

@JohnG @ABitRusty @BillyG @stringy @ELCBKK Thanks, all--
I'm working on doing these fiddle pieces from memory; getting better at it. Just like all things violin--practice, practice, practice.
@ELCBKK Awesome playing on King of the Fairies/Pride of Petravore

@ABitRusty , @SharonC -
Thank you!
Your kind words are always appreciated.
I hope I can find some more "wild hares" and get good enough to actually be able to use a backing track. Right now, I find my timing just becomes a joke when I'm tired.
...oh where, oh where, did my little vibrato go... 🙄
