In recognition on America’s Independence Day, I’m starting a party for American Folk and/or Patriotic Tunes.
I’m starting the party with American Folk Tune Shenandoah

@SharonC -
Woo Hoo!
LOVE your arrangement - sounded great!
Very cool - haven't heard this tune in ages!
I looked it up to find it's origin and was surprised to find that "Shenandoah" ended up a Sea Shanty! Not only was it sung by flatboatmen down the Missouri River, then the Mississippi, but also on Clipper Ships - where it was heard around the World!
Thanx for starting another wonderful Party!

@ELCBKK @Mouse @ABitRusty Thanks! Not my best playing; I think I should have spent more time on it—but I wanted to get the party started!
@ELCBKK I seem to always come back around to sea shanties —I’m going to have to get one together & play it.
@Mouse Arrangement is by a talented Michigan pianist/composer, Catherine McMichael. She also arranged the Christmas duet pieces I played in the Christmas party; I really like her work.

@SharonC Thomas and I listened to this yesterday and for him, he really REALLY loved it and as for me, not only did I love it but havent heard that in soooo long. Thank you very much. Brought back such great childhood memories and it also got me thinking. Children nowadays havent had the pleasure of knowing the songs we sang as children. There has been so many instances of either me humming, whistlling or playing songs from my childhood that Thomas never heard of.
