Amazing progress johng so cool you can look back on that ! 😀
Here is my attempt at Ode to Joy . Posting from the west wing.. my bowing was out of control but I know I can do better! Also my phone was balancing on the door handle and someone was about to come in.. no excuse for that bowing though. Argh back to the practice room .

Ah thank you both ! I had a man at the door and a cat on the roof !! I was thinking I might record in a different room every time ! I think I’m going to keep practicing this one I think it’s great 4th finger practice !
@Katie L
BRAVA!!! Seriously, VERY WELL DONE!
Love the "West Wing." Good acoustics and a great background too. That smile of yours at the end is pure gold.

@RDP
Well, I saw your post LOL. Not too sure the world is ready for me - and, I HATE myself on camera. But I did find the music to 'Ode to Joy' I'll practice it for a few days and if I'm feeling brave, maybe I'll try recording myself. I only have a cell phone to record with so...
My progress is SLOW, but I can hear and feel some improvement. Two months now!
Really have enjoyed listening to everyone playing for sure.

You can do this. I know it. We all know you can do this.
I do all my recording on my phone. Horizontal and in selfie mode is the best way to record because you can see what the camera is seeing and it only takes a tap on the screen to get the red light blinking after it's all set up and you're ready.
If you don't have a stand for your camera you can make a "sling" for it out of a wire coathanger. Hook the coathangar over the door and stretch it. Bend the lower bit to make a sling for your phone to be cradled in. If all you have are the ones from the dry cleaners with the cardboard tube, cut the tube shorter than the length of your phone when you make the sling part.
Making a YouTube channel is simplistic. They make uploading videos simple even for closet luddites like me.
Thanks Katie, I have been playing around with double, and triple stops in all kinds of things lately, they are, along with vibrato a couple of the best ways of making your playing sound better as well as reaĺly good for intonation, in my opinion anyway.
Cant jump about anywhere at the moment though as I have got the virus, so has the missus. lol
Cant beat a sunny day
@stringy I commented on your 1st video before, but I’ve gone back to watch the 2nd one you added-- wanted to say I liked both versions–can tell that you’ve been working the double-stops. Not easy to start & stop them when you want to—but you did it in this video!

@Katie L Sounding good in the “West Wing” I think you need to rename it to “The Violin Room”
Your bowing drifts a little--not out of control, and your arm movement looks excellent (the result of a lot of practice! ).

@LinDee We are ready for you—
Seriously, the party room is a place of sharing, & everyone is welcome wherever you are on the string journey!
