@stringy -
ABSOLUTELY DREAMY Playing!
Sounded wonderful!
I really enjoyed listening to your "Londonderry Air"!
Thank you for making this a GREAT Party!
...personally, I think all you have to do for Aria Amorosa is exactly what you had to do for this tune - just listen to the piece played MORE, by someone you want to emulate. 😊

...btw, it's GREAT if you play the same tune as someone else in a Party - especially great if you want to play it because someone here has inspired you or brought a tune to your attention!

Thanks Emily, I like slow tunes the best but for me they are the hardest to play, maybe because they show my mistakes more, and like you say concentration is everything. I have already today changed things in the Amorosa one, as you know its my timing that does it, its not miles out but with a tune like that its got to be bang on, one ofthe problems which I have started to work on is putting in the trills which I think will make a huhe difference if I can get them right.

I agree with Emily. Please do not be deterred from playing a song you've chosen because someone recorded & posted that same tune before you. Folks playing their own version of the same tune is wonderful

@JohnG
Great job, I instantly recognized the tune but I had no clue as to the name, you have made great progress.

I Really like that tune, I learned it's as a Dotti Rambo song, He looked beyond my faults and saw my need.
Found out it was first documented in 1675 in Scotland/Ireland, and the comment was it was an ancient tune with no know author, since then the melody has been used in over 100 songs.
It's my bane, I've tried learning it in the style Fritz Kreslier and has kicked my butt, need to revisit it, thank you for playing it.

Thanks for the comments all,. Thats great progress John, and I envy your net speed, i get 250 bit upload speed, took me an hour to upload that one of mine sometimes goes up to 1 meg, and our total speed is 12 meg, thats what they call superfast in our third world country.
Mark I am going to listen to kreislers version if I can, didnt know he did this one, I will tell you one thing, even though its simple its deceptively difficult.
Greg thats a major insult calling it Danny boy, I am seething wih rage,
lol only joking mate, in derry if you said in a pub in certain parts of the city that you were going to play the londonderry air they would go mad, as they refuse to call the place Londonderry and just call it derry, and in other sections they would go mad if you called it anything else. quite funny really, if it wasnt so serious.

Greg I sometimes forget that everyone on here are from different countries, colin, and gordon shumway would instantly know what I meant.
In Ireland, catholics, the IRA would never call derry londonderry because they believe the Irish should rule themselves, therefore they call it derry, all over the town are paintings with images of rifle holding IRA men and the slogan free Derry, on the other hand protestants are loyalists, unionists, and believe they should remain part of the UK, they are loyal to the Queen, its very serious.
what I said to you was a joke, but its a very political matter, the troubles are still ongoing, hope this explains why its politics.
Until very recently when the orange lodges marched in Liverpool there would be violence, in Ireland they consider Liverpool an Irish city, almost everyone from here is of Irish descent, even the football clubs were originally divided on religion and politics, Liverpool being Protestant and Everton being catholic, same goes for Rangers and Celtic in Scotland.
