@Katie L - Loved your Danny Boy, I can't imagine even trying vibrato yet and applaud your efforts and posting it for all to see. And you don't know how often I've done the grimace and head shake after playing a tune. You are definitely not alone. Also, thank you for the kind words, and I'm actually amazed not only on how I'm progressing, but also that I've managed to stick with it.

@SharonC - Thank you. Kerflooey is a great term. Making changes to one's physical movements sometimes seems like circular rubbing your stomach while patting your head.

Ah thank you Sharon ! And abitrusty and JohnG 😀 I wasn’t going to add vibrato and then I was and then hmm maybe on one note and then I had a go but had no intention of posting it! But thanks for watching and commenting ! I often have a mini tantrum after playing !

I think I needed this party to get me going again so thanks Sharon and for all those who have posted !

@Katie L -

Congratulations!

This Party is the PERFECT place to start using your vibrato!

VERY nicely done - keep doing more!

SO glad you joined this Party!

I'm envious, wish I could do vibrato that well when I'm recording!

Thanks Mark and Emily pleased you liked it. It’s taken a long time to get to just that point. I think this means vibrato is going in the mix now 😬 I’m hoping it will get easier maybe it will get harder who knows!

@Ripton -

You going to join us in this Party, too?

- Emily

Btw, who's going to be the next Fiddler to try a 5-string VIOLA?

Well well well. Now for some more recording to do. I was at a loss to know what tunes would qualify for this party but thanks to @Mark I now have a list to go from and yes, indeed have a few of those tunes in my book.. Please stand by....

@ABitRusty - Definitely a parlor song, well played. I had to look it up and found it was written in 1918 was a hit that would have often been played in parlors!

@ABitRusty Nicely played, great slides!

Lovely tune--Bing Crosby & Patti Page sang a duet version of this

thanks Emily Sharon and John!

Sharon I used it since it seemed to be popular around very early 1900's.  but became more after recorded versions maybe?   just sounded like that era to me.   the LOC site has some versions from WWI.
