Why not go with the)0 violin for a week and see how you miss the Cello, you should never play in pain though.
Good thing about the violin, you don't have to move out of first position really, so you don't have to shift if you don't want to.

i was surprised yall were cutting.. not that i know..just seems being farther North youd be on a later schedule..

Loose and supple is the way to go. I used to get bad shoulder and neck pain from gripping too hard, I still have a tendency to press to hard with my chin on the rest, but have no tension at all in my hand or arm. I have been working on my bowing just lately as I was wandering everywhere, lot straighter now though
One step forward two steps back, I wonder is there anything that is easy to learn with violin lol.
I like the sound of that cleaner, is it one of those robots that go on their own?
