I'm a very big fan of how musicians groove together, but I'm not a big fan of stripping music of all imperfections with editing software - people aren't perfect (and it will be crazy to witness how A.I. deals with this down the road). 😉

Wabi-Sabi and the Psychology of Imperfection - article by Matt Johnson, Ph.D.

He includes a bit about Yo-Yo Ma & music performance!

• The Japanese concept of wabi-sabi relates to the particular value that comes with accepting imperfection and transience.

• Kintsugi, an ancient technique for repairing pottery, is a classic example. Instead of trying to hide the imperfections, it highlights them.

• Wabi-sabi provides an alternative perspective on modern anxieties and perfectionism by recognizing that everything is in constant flux.

A change in perspective: KINTSUGI (based on Wabi Sabi) - The Japanese Philosophy About Imperfect Beauty.
