Some more great tunes.....
@Picklefish: Great job with the Peek a Boo Waltz.
@ratvn: You did a really good job. I've never heard that one before, but it's very nice.
@RosinedUp: That was great RU. And your backing track turned out really well also.
@Ginnysg: Really nice playing Ginny. Good tempo too.

Hope I'm not too late for this party, I've had other things taking my precious time ...
It was while reading the friendly banter about Aussie songs and in particular some of the strange Aussie lingo (I'll have to teach you all some day), I remembered this tune from my old guitar book. Not sure whether it actually passes as a waltz, sounds fine to me (except when I play it).
So, with literally 5 minutes practise and my usual finesse ... and as usual, the dog next door doesn't appreciate me ...
If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

@Robyn.fnq - that was lovely, I've never heard that tune before... I like it!
I had to laugh with the dog next door... but I don't think he was objecting, he was just singing along!

I can't tell you all enough how much I am enjoying this thread. It's making me feel confidant enough to head on over to the Intro section. Thanks. You all sound wonderful!
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Very nice, Robyn! I wasn't familiar with that song, either. At first I thought it would be Waltzing Matilda, but quickly realized that the melody was different. I looked it up and learned that the lyrics are rather poignant. Thanks for sharing that. I've learned something new.
You're right Diane, I was reminded of this song when I was working with veterans, and even though it was quoted 1914, I think it is relevant to all of them.
I first heard it sung by the Bushwackers Band
Big tear jerker ...
