@Steve : That's awesome! Nice vibrato and intonation. Good to see. Violin is spectacular as long as your recording device!

Here's me playing the chorus of "Let Me Call You Sweetheart", or trying to.

That was great, John.

The best one so far, both in playing and in recording.

Well done, mate, you're a hot one (Yeah, you must turn off your A/C for the recording, right. I don't hear any fan now, lol).

Very well done indeed, John.

Hi John,

Great playing, glad you officially joined in! I like your Redeemed waltz no matter how many times you might have played it before!  We'll have to call you the Mad Scientist pretty soon, with all the equipment and gadgets strung all over.smile

(I think Rosined Up is officially the "owner" of this Waltz thread, but thanks for mentioning me!)

No worries.  True, I'm the instigator.  The thread isn't much without you and others posting.  Talking to folks, I'm pretty sure there will be at least several more.  I for one intend to post some more waltzes here.  I would even post Waltzing Matilda, as that's in my repertoire, thanks to you, but, as I expect you know, it isn't a waltz, ha ha.

Cheers!

It means something like roaming on foot, and carrying and living out of a bag. I've made a little study of coolibahs, billies, swagmen, jolly jumbucks, tucker bags, and squatters.  Oh, yeah, and I almost forgot, billabongs.  I hope I'm not acting too familiar, mate.   Ha ha, never heard so much puzzling lingo in one song!  Anyway, it's a pretty amazing piece.  I think I can see in part why you love it down there.

BTW thanks for your Redeemed post.  Nice playing.

I'm a little late to the party, but better late than never! :)

My contribution is a tune called Josefin's Waltz. I know it from Natalie MacMaster's Blueprint album; I don't know much about its origin other than it was written by Roger Tallroth, guitarist for the Swedish folk band "Väsen."

I couldn't resist doing a guitar track for this one, too, because A. it's fun to do both, B. Natalie MacMaster's version has guitar and fiddle, and C. the guitar track covers up some of the squeaks and scratches of my fiddle playing.

Here goes:

Great job to Steve, John @Ferret and @RosinedUp ! Thanks @RosinedUp for starting this party!

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

Oh mine, that was great, Diane, both in violin and guitar playing, and a lovely tune as well.

I love it. Well done! Great job!

OK, here goes.  This is my very first video of myself that I am sharing, I just learned how to do this last week thanks to @wookieman. Honestly it didn't sound as bad to my ear when I was playing, as it does on the recording...except there are some obvious misses... Maybe let the cat out before you hit play on this one!facepalm
