Ken... I adored your submission.

I am happy the stent went off without a hitch.

Happy Week. Have fun working on your violin.

Okay... Here I am at the Waltz Party.

It is going to take me about another 3-4 weeks to get the flowy bow and pretty sound that I think this song should have.  But here is my Work in Progress.  I need to start working on one song at a time for a while to make them pretty.

Here is my Greensleeves (oh.. by the way there is a little intermission in the song..feel free to enjoy the silence... ha ha ha ha)

Wow, that is nice, Toni.

I'm sure it will be lot better after you get everything straight out, but this is very good progress already. Good job.

Keep up the great work and keep posting.

thumbs-up

Thank you Robert.. Just wanted to join in the party.  I want this one under my belt for the holidays too...so there is no time like the present.  I did a couple almost better recordings on SoundCloud... everyone has a stinking error..not always big.. so I thought dang.. I can do better... 1.5 hours later..NOPE... I had the ONE... to post and I wasn't recording... I thought I was recording and I had a little yes!!! at the end..and no pause button... dang..

Anyway.. I can tell my intonation was off.... there are some accidental G#'s that are important to hit right and I missed them... Although this version gives you 8 I believe chances to hit them. :)

I will post again in 3 weeks... okay... this one should be super pretty when I do it right. Just got it memorized today.... was playing from sheet before.

:)

I've heard both ways, with the leading tone as a half step and as a whole step.
In any case, thanks for posting :-) Good job.

Good playing Toni!  I wish my Greensleeves had sounded that good that quickly.

and Ken, amazing, as always.

CPO > you are really learning a lot of songs. That is one of the reasons I really like this site. It has push me to learn tunes.
I'm just not so quick at getting recordings, vids, etc out there. Being discipline with the tunes is a problem I also have. I have a tendency to wonder off into StoneDog land. Your really playing good there CPO.

@anonkid- holy cow! thats the waltz I was gonna do. I think I will go back and practice harder! full bow usage and even tone at that age, she makes it look effortless. Is twinkle a waltz? I could do that one! lol.

I'm just catching up here...what a great party!

Ken @Fiddlestix : I loved your medley. Very well done.

Toni @coolpinkone : Great job with Greensleeves. I never thought of that as a waltz, either (like I never thought of Annie's Song as a waltz).

Katie @anonkid : Fantastic, as usual! I can't believe your poise and confidence...and how you use every last millimeter of bow. :)

Bravo everyone!

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

Oh, and Ken @Fiddlestix : I think it speaks volumes about a fiddler's dedication when he seems to give equal weight to his hospitalization and a fallen sound post in a single sentence. :)

Glad you're OK.

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.
