Great idea, great contributions! Here's mine, which may or may not be so great...
Obligatory green t-shirt, obviously. And cat. No comment on the intonation errors... and we'll pretend all the "double stops" were on purpose, yeah?

Well done, FifiLaFume! That was a mighty cool video, and very well played with lots of feeling. Your studio(?) has some great acoustics, too!
@ pfish and StoneDog: Thanks, guys!
BTW, Oh Danny Boy always confuses me no end, because it's so much like You Raise Me Up. I hear the lyrics in my head, and they just keep jumping back and forth between the two! Are they actually the same melody, or did the band just blatantly plagiarise the old folk song?

Over 100 different sets of lyrics have been set to the Londonderry Air, since the melody is very old. Danny Boy is not the original, by any means. Love songs, ballads, hymns, all kinds of songs. "You Raise Me Up" is just one of the recent ones.

Aha! That explains why it's referred to Danny Boy and Londonderry Air seemingly interchangeably...

So I put on the green shirt and tried to play Danny Boy. The instrument is my replacement CVA-500 14" Viola which I love and do not do justice. And I don't do justice to the tune either but call it practice for next year. BTW I have D'Addario Prelude Short Scale Viola strings on the instrument.
Good show to everyone else who participated and a particular shout out to Diane for bringing forth the idea.

Ok, I had a few quiet moments this morning and finally thought of a song, so I did a quick take of it. Didn't see where anyone had done Molly Malone yet, and didn't want to totally skip the party. LOL
It's audio, but I put it on youtube to hopefully avoid having it auto-play and run over top of others in the thread. Uh.. at least the background of the title is green. I figured out how to do that much, anyway.

Thank you Diane!!!! This is a great party..... I had my Irish Nachoes last night!!!!
Everyone that posted...wow what a great show. I am so impressed. I did not want to clog up the forum by replying on every single one.... But I watched.
How wonderful to see the progress of all the friends here!
I was going to do a quick try at Danny Boy.. But it would be from scratch, so I will just play violin in honor of this great violin party!
Thanks again Diane!
