Emily, your thread made think of this cellist—Nan Kemberling. She’s a performing/teaching cellist in Atlanta. I first heard her play when I attended SCOR! (String camp for adults) in Atlanta when she played a piece called Julie O. Video here:

I wasn't sure where to put this, and it probably isn't enough for a whole thread by itself, so I suppose it goes here. It's a cello piece that's been stuck in my head for most of the day after I heard it on classical radio this morning. One of the few purely instrumental pieces from a composer mostly known for his operas.
