@Dave B.    Funny story.  I knew a young lady who joined a community orchestra and she had trouble counting out the long rests.  She finally admitted to me that it was 3 years before she came back on cue after a long rest without depending on watching everybody else.  Some things take time(ing) roflrofl

I fixed the first links. You did everything right except that you need to edit the links a little bit.

http://w ww.youtube.com/watch?v=LGuRHwiN2xo

Needs to be changed to:

http://www.youtube.com/v/LGuRHwiN2xo

This part should always be: http://www.youtube.com/v/

Then you add the letters after the = sign

Chinny, Thanks for posting. I love how you have the courage to jump right in and start playing. That is what's needed in order to get everybody involved.

I'll start with two things. Fist of all your 3rd finger G. It is consistently too low and your second finger is slightly low. Raise the third finger and compare it to your open G string below. I have a feeling that the second will correct it self. It might feel like a slight stretch at first if you are not used to doing it.laugh

Secondly, Could you give a little accent to each and every note with a release. Kind of like hitting a bell. Will be really nice in the end if we all play dynamics in this production. Sometimes dynamics have to be exaggerated to be heard by others.

Otherwise "GREAT START". dancingdancingdancingdancing I look forward to seeing more.

Bravo for being the first to post the Christmas Project. I figure we have about a month before we start recording for real. I want to post the result in the beginning of November. Will want a few people at least to say something in the beginning about the project. Would be cool with like 5 people from different countries announcing it.

That sounds great Barry. Your fiddle style bowing will add some cool flavor and you play on key ;-) jimi-hendrix

So there is a chance that in a few years, it might come to me. I look forward to it. there is no one to watch here, so I am really in trouble!

Hope you don't mind me popping in here, Barry. Let's get your fingers in the correct position for the first few bars. Your g natural (3rd finger on d) sound great. The next note is being played too high. Your second finger should be lower (f natural) and your first finger should be lower as well (e flat). This also goes for the a string. Your b flat is coming across as a b natural. Be sure to have the first finger low (only a half step above the open string sound).

Then later on the second finger will be high again (f sharp), so don't get too comfortable with the f natural. amuse

Sounds like a great start!

Hey Barry,

Thanks for posting so quickly. You are definitely talented and have a great sound. SaraO is right. If you check the key signature at the beginning you'll see the two flats. Bb and Eb. You are playing in D Major(2 sharps) instead.

I LOVE your style, turns, and movements and look forward to a remake with the correct key signature.

I like Barry's idea about getting corrected at the beginning before developing too many bad habits so i'm posting my violin 4 here. Sorry that it is blur (one way to not show my face I guessed) when I checked my camera i thought it was just my eyesight (sigh, the third thing you lose when you get older). I was going to post violin 3, too, but I think i might have pinched a nerve on my left wrist and my arms are sore i was working too hard and had too much fun on the wheel at a pottery barn this afternoon so i had to give up after I play violin 4 several times to get it recorded. Hopefully my arms and wrist will feel better soon.

Well, uploading has been slow here, so...my video is coming soon:P

(maybe i will redo it tomorrow and get it focus as well.)

Thank you for the feedback. I knew there was something wrong but I wasn't quite sure what notes exactly.

Hey Barry I think you've made a brilliant start there :D Maybe I should take a closer look at the instructional videos + midi too. It would definitely help with how I play this piece

While you are working on it Barry, no F# or C# either.

But seriously. It sounded really cool. I love your style.

Quick question on violin part 1:

Measure 33 shows an e natural and measure 35 appears to go back to an e flat. But in the demo they were both played with an e natural (I think). Which is correct?

Thanks so much for catching that Sara. The sheet music is correct. I wasn't looking too closely at the music. I checked it against the other parts and it has to be an Eb the second time to correspond with the fourth violin part which has an Eb on bar 35.

Thanks

Please make a special note of that on your parts if you are recording the 1st vln part.

Another mistake is that I put a 0 on an Eb on the second violin part in bar 38 and bar 46. roflroflroflrofl Mentioned it on the video but I would not be surprised if someone missed it.

I don't know if i would have time to retake this weekend, so here's the blurry one. I left my computer on all night and only about 70% uploaded after 9 hours! I think I figured what happened and will do better next time :P

It is indeed blurry but the sound is still clear and I have to say there are few screeching sounds here and there. But you are gradually improving.exactly And may I know what song is that? I've never heard it before. And I sincerely hope what I said didn't offend you because I really didn't mean it.embarassed
