Hi, this is my first post in the forum, and i feel very happy to stay here.

First, i'm sorry, i'm peruvian and my english is... so bad :(

Ok, the point is:

It's necessary positioning the thumb under the mast, or, as Fiddlerman, the thumb exceeds the mast? -in the vibrato and "no-vibrate" sounds?

Waiting for your comments!

Thanks! :)

In short,
Both ways have their advantage. I play either way.
When I play using fast vibrato I like to have my thumb higher and with wider romantic, slower vibrato I like to use the fat of my thumb.
What takes time is to get used to both ways and be able to switch seamlessly.
Try both and find what works for you. I've known great players, soloists, students using either and none dominating over the other.

Ok, eso es suena muy bien!

Uhm, violinista, otra PREGUNTA pls LOL

Te veo vídeos de mano y vibrato muñeca, pero he intentado eso es vibratos y es muy, muy difícil! -tal vez por mi pobre :( Inglés

El dedo, necesariamente necesariamente debe "adherirse" al mástil to the great working of the vibrato?Sin-título2.jpgImage Enlarger

Me siento muy Débil de las yemas de los dedos

Y cuando apoyo del pulgar bajo el mástil, en realidad, es muy difícil sentir la fuerza en las puntas de los dedos, que dificilta mucho para mí muestras vibrato -que envidiable

-Tengo Las manos y dedos largos Grandes

me prepare a video Mostrando my problems with el vibrato, but in silence. I tried reveal my problems in silence, my pronunciation of english it's... hehe... :'( nothing understand me

Ayuda Fiddler, eres mi ídolo! : D

Saludos desde Perú :)

The thumb stays connected but not solid. It doesn't slide. Most of the action occurs in your playing fingers. Hope that is clear. The height of your thumb makes no difference either. I play with it high and low depending on what type of vibrato I want.
