StreetJelly sounds interesting. I may have to check it out. .......
Yeah - do that ! Specifically you can check the SJ calendar for the regular Strings on Sunday get-togethers - there are usually myself, Mandy and Jim for 30 minute slots, starting, sort of around 3pm EST. We also have a regular set of forum members in the audience. ( The calendar entry appears once someone schedules their show - and that sometimes doesn't happen until the day before - just keep an eye open )
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Regulars
I've also been trying to remember to post our show times in our Strings on Sunday thread here once shows are scheduled. Not something I can always guarantee I'll remember to do, but I try
One thing I realized that StreetJelly was helping me with.. Yesterday in my lesson my teacher and I were running through my recital tunes, at some point, I don't know when, I started tuning out and daydreaming while playing. Specifically I was staring at the large stand up bass in the corner, looking at the tailpiece and bridge and thinking how huge they are and how silly they would look on my fiddle. At some point I came out of that daydream and I couldn't remember where I was at in the song, I had just been going on autopilot. I flubbed and stopped. My teacher said that was actually a great thing to get to where you can play while daydreaming, and said I should do that as much at home during practice as possible. She said unfortunately she couldn't offer a tip on how to get past the "oh crap" moment when you come back to reality, just that practicing that way helps you work through it.
I know that StreetJelly is helping me with this because I always keep my computer in front of me and am reading the chat while I play. She told me to keep doing this, and to even practice playing while watching tv and movies to further practice playing while distracted, something you need to be able to do if you plan to play in at a jam or another live performance. (this is something she's been telling me since my first recital over a year ago, but it didn't click with me until I was actually doing it, haha)
So there you go, something else StreetJelly can help you work through
