Just played for about an hour straight and checked my fingers. Nothing.
It has to be a body chemistry thing or maybe what is used on the wrap for the wound strings, maybe? I used to get some black marks back when I used stainless steel strings for a while on electric guitar. Well, I'd get them the first day or so, anyway.
Grooves in the fingers though? Nope. Guess I'm just not a groovy kinda guy. LOL Maybe I'll check again sometime right after I've sanded off the calluses.

Just so you feel like a regular member of the group here, you might try some Red Label strings. I think they are guaranteed to make finger lines or even inflict wounds.Cheap too !
