Ive been looking for a smartphone app thats like band in a box but until now havent found much.   Theres one app that had the ability to do 8 measures or something but nothing near BIAB.   this looks like a possibility..

This is crazy!   very handy... I think its still important to try and figure some things out ...or at least try..by ear.   A key of a song can be figured out by ear using 1 string.. from that chords can be worked on.. But this could be used to create karakoe type backing if im understanding the purpose of it.
