A Review of the Fiddlershop, Itself
I have reviewed items I have purchased at the Fiddlershop, but I wanted to post an unsolicited review of my thoughts and experience shopping online through Fiddlershop

I want to post a review of my experiences shopping online from Fiddlershop. I have always been reluctant to purchase anything online, but I am completely sold on the security, quality and customer service provided when shopping online at Fiddlershop. I need to let people know. This is NOT solicited by the shop. I don’t do reviews because a store requests one, either by calling me or by sending me an email requesting it. I am doing this because I am, and have been since my first purchase, very impressed with the Fiddlershop and it is my way of showing support for those stores, online or brick and mortar, that I find to be trustworthy.

I would recommend that Fiddlershop be your first stop for bowed string instruments, supplies and accessories. Fiddlershop never fails, understanding, however, that if you have a local shop, that is most likely where you would go first. Just my little disclaimer to prevent this thread from becoming a, “You need to go in and test at a store,” thread. You can trust the quality and customer service at Fiddlershop.

The staff is fantastic and go out of their way to help you get what you need. The prices are fantastic compared to everywhere I check. The customer service provided is above and beyond.

I have purchased strings, chin and shoulder rests, bows, rosins, music stand, music light, tuners, a couple books, a violin and a viola from Fiddlershop. With the number of purchases I have made, without any issue whatsoever, I feel completely safe in recommending this shop. I have never been disappointed. I always received fantastic customer care, even with a small purchase. Everything arrived on time and in perfect condition.

I understand some may have a local shop that they support. Sometimes at your local shop, a price might be too high, or they do not have what you want. If that is ever the case, give Fiddlershop a look. You can look online, start a chat if you can’t find what you want or have a question about it. You can call them. You can email them. They are there for you.

If you are looking for an instrument and the one you want is a little too high in price, check out their clearance and “b” stock instruments. If you do not see it there, give them a call, there may be one that has not made it to the web listing. My last purchase was a “b” stock. There was, apparently, a varnish blemish on the backside. Does not affect the quality of the instruments as far as performance, it is just aesthetic. If it was a functional issue, it would not have been put with “b” stock or clearance.

So, if you have not purchased from Fiddlershop because you are a little reluctant to do so online, I fully recommend this shop.

I am lucky in that I have a shop about 1 1/2 hours away and the option of Fiddlershop. I am happy with both options. If I am ever down their way, it will definitely be a stop on my list.

I second all of the above! Pierre, Mike and all of the folks at Fiddlershop are the epitome of good customer service.

Yes We Can EmoticonsFiddlershop helped me WAY before I bought my "Mortimer"!

I believe all the support I saw FM/Fiddlershop providing to help newbies had a huge impact on my decision to take up a 5-string violin to begin with!

The video violin reviews helped me make a choice.

Customer service VERY helpful!

I have nothing but respect for the Fiddlershop & all it's employees.

My 1st stop when looking for anything related to my "Mortimer"!

Thank You Smiley Emoticons- Emily

I have been struggling over the past few years to convince myself to purchase any instrument without playing it first. At one time around 10 years ago I bought a couple of instruments without playing them and I ended up regretting it. It has boiled down to searching for the tone that my ears want to hear. So, with that in mind, I have decided that I will be upgrading my violin and bow in a year- I have to convince myself that my progress deserves the reward. I live around 275 miles away from the Fiddlershop and my experiences with them have been wonderful. I will make the trip an adventure and purchase my instrument there. Thank you Fiddlershop for everything you do for all of us. Any time I need motivation, I just go on Fiddlerman and watch all of the great musicians there. By the way- I got vibrato! Maybe I will get up the nerve to make a short video soon. Keeping it real..........

:) I second everything said by folks above...

I had an "accident" with the bridge on my FM Concert - yes - I COULD have done the usual and got a new blank and shaped it down - but time was against me, so I got in touch with FiddlerShop to see if they could do me a replacement to fit a "typical" FM Concert violin - leaving me with only needing to (possibly) modify the feet.

Well, they not only did it, they did it for free.

Now THAT is awesome, and as a thank you to them - I did a short video - posted on youtube with a description saying the following -

Just a quick impromptu take of the classic "Zip a dee doo dah" as a small Thank-You to the folks at Fiddlershop.com for the quick work on a replacement bridge for my Fiddlerman Concert violin. I damaged it, it was all my fault, won't go into details (too embarrassing - besides, you'd hardly believe it anyway) ... so to quote the words from the song - Yes, when dealing with Fiddlershop - It's the truth, it's actual, Everything is satisfactual ..... Trust me, I'm a fiddler.... yeah! Thanks guys!

Hey, @BillyG, that was fantastic! What fun to listen to.

I have to say, I am so glad you forgot the glasses were on your head when you out the hat on. It made me feel much better. I spend over two hours looking for my glasses about a year ago. Could not find them. When I walked by a mirror, well, ... I found them. So, thanks for that. I don’t feel so bad now. 😁
