I believe all the support I saw FM/Fiddlershop providing to help newbies had a huge impact on my decision to take up a 5-string violin to begin with!
The video violin reviews helped me make a choice.
Customer service VERY helpful!
I have nothing but respect for the Fiddlershop & all it's employees.
My 1st stop when looking for anything related to my "Mortimer"!

I have been struggling over the past few years to convince myself to purchase any instrument without playing it first. At one time around 10 years ago I bought a couple of instruments without playing them and I ended up regretting it. It has boiled down to searching for the tone that my ears want to hear. So, with that in mind, I have decided that I will be upgrading my violin and bow in a year- I have to convince myself that my progress deserves the reward. I live around 275 miles away from the Fiddlershop and my experiences with them have been wonderful. I will make the trip an adventure and purchase my instrument there. Thank you Fiddlershop for everything you do for all of us. Any time I need motivation, I just go on Fiddlerman and watch all of the great musicians there. By the way- I got vibrato! Maybe I will get up the nerve to make a short video soon. Keeping it real..........

🙂 I second everything said by folks above...
I had an "accident" with the bridge on my FM Concert - yes - I COULD have done the usual and got a new blank and shaped it down - but time was against me, so I got in touch with FiddlerShop to see if they could do me a replacement to fit a "typical" FM Concert violin - leaving me with only needing to (possibly) modify the feet.
Well, they not only did it, they did it for free.
Now THAT is awesome, and as a thank you to them - I did a short video - posted on youtube with a description saying the following -
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
