No problem and thanks for doing an exchange. I must of got the bad apple out of the bunch. Now that's great customer service! And get this Pierre, I bought a Mendini 650 about a year ago and just took it out of its case the other day for the first time in a long time and noticed the string action was way too high at the end of the finger board the low G and high E are both at 9mm above the fingerboard. KKmusic store agreed to exchange that as well after all this time.

For sure Dennis, I don't know what I was thinking but at the time I had some extra money and no clue on how violin action should be. KK Music store has always given me great customer service. Their Saxophones are kickass and easy to play and sound almost as good as a couple really expensive sax's that I have. So I went for it and bought 5 low cost violins from them all in one month so I could compare different sounds to see what would work for me. Now that I'm broke again, I don't think that way anymore
There was a guy on Fiddlermans forum trying to sell some bows but he was kind off a jerk with his attitude but I bought a bow from him cause i did a little research and those were Italian made bows. I bought one and loved it then bought 3 more from him and they are beautiful bows and i can't wait to show Pierre these bows when he comes to SoCal in Jan.

I don't know... Way too many of the hairs came out of mine down on the frog end. I have to get it re-haired to judge it.
Hmmm that's strange! Mine lost only one hair - by my own fault, when was getting it out of the case.... It doesn't loose them even if i drop it on the floor (yep, i'm clumsy )

Just received mine today and I must say, I'm impressed! After playing it for a while, I went back to my bow that came with my Palatino and realized how badly my old bow was warped!
No hair problems with mine, either.
I love how balanced it is! It's starting to help me more with my bowing technique as I do not have to fight any extra bow bounce! LOL I get enough of it on my own!

Fiddlerman Bow arrived today but I didn't get to try it as we arrived home late after 14 hour road trip.
Only question so far... was it supposed to come in two pieces? Was the pencil in the package intended to connect the two?
Just kidding The packaging, as others have mentioned, is bullet proof. The bow looks great and I'm looking to trying it out tomorrow.
I hope the new instrument arrives soon so I can try the two together
hmmm... then I may need an effects pedal, an amp,... maybe learn how to play....

OK, I've gotten some sleep and was able to check out the bow for a little while. Seems like a nice step up from what I had been using. It does not have that typical "carbon fiber" look, perhaps because it is braided rather than woven carbon fiber. You could easily mistake it for black fiberglass. One of the first things I noticed was that compared to the inexpensive wooden bow (amazon) I was using, there seems to be zero bounce! Sweet, because I had been working for a while to try to completely eliminate that.
Tone seems good as long as I don't let the bow wander though at times there are some... hmmm... what to call them... airy spots. Some no doubt due to left hand latency issues I'm still working on and some I think have been due to rosin built up on the strings. I overdid it a bit on applying rosin to the new bow.
The balance of the new bow feels really good. tip to frog is not the effort it was with the other bows I've used.
FYI, the description says the stick is round, which it is, but the grip end of the stick is hexagonal like a "normal" bow.
I weighed the three bows I now own:
26 yr old "student" fiberglass bow = 58.3 gr
6 month old Amazon "Full-size 4/4 Pernambuco Nickel/silver Mounted Violin Bow" = 62.3 gr
Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber bow = 60.8 gr
Of course the Fiddlerman bow might actually weigh less... I put about a ton of rosin on it, being a new bow and all
Anyway, if the tone stays good and the bounce stays gone, I'll be happy with my purchase.
