I personally an not an impulse buyer, I research things and weight options before I buy something for me. I have been wanting to replace my very inexpensive mandolin with a better one and have been researching for several months which mandolin I was going to purchase and from whom, along with the upgrades to the mandolin. I was going to buy it right after Christmas, until, watching Michael O'gieblyn, he was demoing a violin and was gushing all over it, the wife walked in while I was watching the demo and said she like the sound and the looks of it and I was silly to not buy it instead of a mandolin since I play the fiddle more than the mandolin, and she thought I needed a back up in case something happened to my old antique fiddle. Then she taunted me as she left the room, saying, I was too stubborn to buy it, because it wasn't my idea and that I was silly not to buy it!!!!!!!!

Well I showed her!!!! and bought that Fiddle, boy was she surprised when she asked later that day if I had bought that fiddle and I said yes I had! Her only comment was that I had finally listened to her and it was about time!! And I must say it is a really, really good looking fiddle and with such a different voice from my old antique fiddle, I do believe when it opens up it is going to be a very good sounding fiddle.

SO BEWARE of Michael O'gieblyn's demos they may make you do things your not normally prone to do!!!!

Master the Frog and you have mastered the bow.

Congrats, Mark. I'm glad you're the lucky parent of that "switched at birth" mandolin.
By the time I saw it on the Fiddlershop Youtube channel, it was already sold. Now I know a bit of the backstory to the sale.
