I changed my strings about a week ago.
On Theo, my year old violin, I previously had Thomastik PI, and then Evah Golds. I found the Evahs a little warmer, but the PIs more direct.
Also, I now know what people talk about with the Evah Golds going “off the cliff” – although they sound really good at first, they become almost dull a few months in.
So, I was hoping to find something in between the two (i.e., a little warmer than PI, but more direct than Evah’s). And something with more life in them than the Evahs.
So, I’m trying Perpetual Cadenza. A week in, I really like them—I find they are in between the two others like I was looking for. If they hold up over time, I think their my (and Theo's) new strings.

@SharonC -
I'm curious to see how they hold up for you.
I keep going back to Larsen Virtuoso on both of my CF instruments.
I've had to go with a larger diameter A string on Edgar, though - to compensate for my bridge being a little low under it. The thickest one I found so far is Zyex.
Wish I'd just learn to change my E string more often - when it starts looking darker in spots that's corrosion, it does effect the sound, but not always apparent... until I record. 🤣
