I've been a little curious about the new Thomastik Rondo Strings, Fiddlershop just started carrying - has anyone tried them?

Here's a review for the Violin strings and the Viola strings that impressed me.

...seriously thinking I might try part of a set.

I edited my previous post because Fiddlershop does have a review of Thomastik Rondo Violin strings, now. 😊

I had bought a Rondo Viola C string a while back to try out - just put it on Edgar a few days ago.

My 1st impression - immediately liked it!

Very similar in full sound & very quick response to Larsen Virtuoso Soloist, but not as bulky.  Similar in price - really need to find out which brand lasts longer.

...just ordered a D & G Viola strings to try - hesitant to try the A string because I generally don't like steel core strings.

Btw, I am disappointed that hardly any string manufacturers to go the extra effort to develop a good synthetic core A string for Violas.

Think I'll even be trying the Rondo Violin strings on Mortimer - when I get back to playing on him.
