Trying the link out to my tik tok account, stopping using you tube because of ads

Fair enough Emily, it's only as dangerous though in as much info as you give away, which for me is none.
I also use a VPN for the vast majority of things I do on the net, everyone should.
My name for instance is no where on the internet, not even on here, and I use fake email addresses for everything, no one has my real email. The only thing real are my vids, and those can be seen by anyone.
I have never used banking or credit card over a computer for instance, pre loaded cards from supermarkets are the way to go, same with amazon, anyone who uses Internet banking and puts any of their details of credit cards, in any shape or form on the net is a fool.
Did you know that if you read an online newspaper, or music site for instance they also store all your data, and use it for various things like advertising and selling your info to anyone Interested, same as any online supermarket shopping, they do the same thing, they all collect your data, you tube are actually the worst site for this.
Thanks for the concern though its much appreciated,

I am stopping using you tube because of ads, and the amount of advertising spam that I am getting from them, it's unusable. Unless there is some way of uploading vids directly from my computer to here.
Tik tok by the way isn't banned in the states, only for government agencies in the same way other social media sites are banned from government agencies. You are wise to be careful though.
Never give your real email or name to any site on the net, or your location for that matter. Lots of social sites have spider bots all over them, no real way of stopping them unfortunately.

maybe vinmeo is the answer. Think @SharonC uses that.
@stringy but the ads! since youre public you can generate revenue!!
They do have alot of ads but sometimes ive found some interesting stuff that way. just way sick of tenmu. and the annoying fake celebrity voiced...claim your check from "THE GOV" now. well i assume its fake. who knows.
you can do some google adjustments on advertising and security settings and get more targeted stuff. i just turn it all off and get what i get though.
maybe post it directly here or vinmeo..or something.. ill pass on ticktok. sry.

Don't use drop box mouse unfortunately,.
Greg I used to have a you tube account that was monetised, I used to put fake UFO vids on there for a laugh to see what people would believe, didn't take long for you tube to get in touch about monetisation, one tenth of a penny for each hit, I had one vid on there with 77000 hits, think I got 5 quid for it lol, channel may still be on if you are interested, the name I was going under at the time was ummbasso, if you search it may or may not come up now.
Started using tik tok because it was quick, I can load a vid in about 3 seconds you tube takes half an hour, not trying to get anyone to use any social media platform by the way its up to them, I don't care one way or the other, but I will say tik tok has around 80 million American users.
I have tried to upload directly to this site but it won't let me, loads one per cent then stops.
Jim thanks for taking a look, may give the ad thing you mention a go but it's driving me insane at the moment, lol
Mouse you can put the post anywhere as no one is going to see it anyway lol

By the way, thus shows how little I know, 😂, is that referring to New York State, or is it not an American Fiddle piece?
🐭
@Mouse , Fairytale of New York is an ‘80s song by the Pogues that references New York City at Christmastime. It has a flowing melody that works well on a fiddle, and unsettling lyrics. It’s sort of a cult classic cynical Christmas song in stark contrast with the traditional tidings of comfort and joy.

I'm using a paid version of Vimeo - but there is a free version.
The free version has limits (I think it used to a size limit, but I think it is number of videos per month now)--but the good thing is that even the free version is ad free. May not be a good option if you are looking for large audience (i.e., like YouTube).
I also use sync.com for storage (I do this manually; I don't use their app). Again, I use a paid version, but they have a free version with 5GB storage. I know that I can play a video directly from that (can't embed, but can share a link like you can with Google Drive).
Sorry, I won't use tiktok. Don't know about the 80 million--but I'm not one of them.

Hey Electric Violin Man @stringy ,
Great playing! (Great name, too.)
Yes, your TikTok link works fine. Glad I stumbled on your post and made my way over there! You’ve played some really nice pieces.
Glad to see that you’re becoming a bit of a cult classic yourself on TikTok with some global affirmation in the comments. 😄
Seems like you’re having a real good time on that electric fiddle.
I don’t comment here all that much, and mainly lurk during Christmas Project Time, but I have noticed your iron-willed commitment to learning and taming the violin over the years. Not an easy path if you’re self-taught. You’ve come a long, long way. Great job. You made it especially hard on yourself tackling some demanding classical pieces from the start.
The electric fiddle sounds great, but I hope you won’t fully leave behind your acoustic journey. You invested a lot of time and effort there. Clearly paying off. Playing the acoustic instrument builds so much technique and skill that translates immediately to the electric fiddle. 😊
Cheers.

Unfretted thanks for the very kind comments, I think everyone wants to be heard;)
Have had quite a bit of interest on there, its quite flattering really, people seem to seriously be into some of the tunes which I think is great. I am still playing my acoustic one by the way, split it between the two, I think the acoustic is best for developing intonation, but I like the sound of the electric one.
You are not wrong about the time I have put in, nearly 2 hours a night for 4 and a half years, took a long time but I think or hope I am finally getting there at long last.
Again thanks for the comment, made me blush
