So I recorded my part for this before Xmas and it's just been released. It's not the way I imagined it, as the graphic artist that did the visuals has actually featured the fact that we used green screens rather than just presenting the finished scenes. Pretty cool though, and makes a change from tiled screens. The piece is Pavane by Faure (sorry don't know how to do accents on here!).

@Jim Dunleavy -

VERY CREATIVE PROJECT!

Such a lovely performance to listen to.

My only observation was too bad many of the musicians (including yourself) were obscured from view through much of it.

I'd like to learn this piece some day - thank you soooo much for sharing it!

Btw, your accents and symbols can be found in your Post upper right Toolbar area (Ω).

Thanks Emily.

I suppose it was inevitable that some people were somewhat obscured because of the way it was layed out - it would be the same in a real-life performance of course. At least I wasn't put at the back! lol

Fauré - just testing!

yall sounded great Jim.  The videographer did a good job screening out too.  This was a unique video and whoever it was put alot of time in on it I would guess.  I know all of you did too!  thanks for sharing!

Very nice!

Now that I've seen this, I wonder why I haven't seen anything similar to this before from any group, professional or amateur -- I imagine it's quite a bit more difficult than the usual type of virtual orchestra video we've seen.

Thanks @ABitRusty and @AndrewH .

Yes Andrew, it does seem strange that no one seems to have done it before. There's a lot of extra work in the video editing of course (I wouldn't have fancied trying to key out all the badly-lit green screens!) but I suspect the main reason is the extra difficulty of getting the green screens out to everyone. I had my own (I like to mess about with video effects), but just about everyone else had to have one sent out through the post.

The guy that organised and edited the video is a graphic artist and has apparently worked with the Cobweb Orchestra a few times in the past with flash mobs etc.

Funny enough. I actually thought of it but with my experience, the people who would actually have green screen/sheets.... and successfully achieve the background that I need to eliminate the background would have been limited.

Maybe not. 🥴
