I get many requests for my "Tune a Week" series and in the process I must check them out. One of the requests was to play "Love in Bloom" and the person who made the request referenced Jack Benny..... I looked it up and had a great laugh checking it out. I decided that "Love in Bloom" is not popular enough to do a tune a week tutorial but Jack Benny's performance on the Liberace show is a must see.....

It is obvious he plays very well! All those scratchy notes done on purpose lol! Liberace is hysterical with all those flourishes! I always loved Jack Benny!

That's exactly what I said to my husband just now when we finished watching it...he must be good if he can make the violin sound bad on purpose. 🙂

I loved the part with the tiny candelabra stuck to the violin.

When I first started learning, my great uncle reminded me that playing the violin was how Jack Benny got his start, he just always pretended to play badly for the comedy of it. 🙂

I always liked this little routine:

The candelabra is great. This reminds me of Victor Borge. Very funny, and very talented.
