Been wanting to show that I really do try to learn many of the different tunes I post in threads here, so here's a fairly slow Strathspey - "George I Taylor".
Warning! I have a few spots of dreadful intonation.
If you can get past that, (don't think I repeated those mistakes) I think you'll find this can be a fun piece!
...hope everyone will see that not all strathspeys are played at breakneck speeds! 🤣

never heard this one before, thanks for sharing this, I think you are playing well, you should post more, by the way what is the violin you are playing?

@stringy -
OMG! (said this twice today - I must be losing my mind)
The tune I played is really "George I. Taylor" - just edited my 1st post (hope Mouse can fix my heading). It's in Post No.15 in my Strathspeys thread.

Can't believe I mixed up the names - probably should record "King George IV" because I love it... and learned it 1st!
Sorry for the confusion.
My "Mortimer" is a 5-string Glasser AEX, carbon composite violin.
It doesn't really make me very happy to record on a night I'm not playing well. I still have to figure everything out better between my problems, Kevin's schedule and the Grandkids.
Thank You for your encouragement!
My brain on... the forum!

Truth, not encouragement.
I dont like recording myself either, I can play a tune a hundred times perfectly and as soon as I record it, it all goes out the window, forgetting what comes next, wrong notes everything, good job you cant hear what I say after recording some things, it would make a tomato blush.

Thanx again, Mouse!
Just found the sheet music for this on The Session. org!
I don't know why I forgot to look there (duh) - would've made my life easier.
Maybe I can clean mine up, now. (lol)
Okay, think I have the link fixed, but you can always find it on their site - with an audio track.

So... this tune is named after a Left-handed fiddler who played a regular strung fiddle!
Besides Charlie Chaplin, Einstein was a left-handed fiddler, too.

@ABitRusty -
Thanx, Greg.
I did learn something from recording 6 tunes in 1 night - I won't do it again!
Just made me real sloppy with my intonation... and then that creepy little finger wouldn't relax on the bow anymore. (lol)
Many Strathsbeys are fast, especially the Cape Breton ones, but there's slower ones from Scotland. I really do enjoy this one.
Seriously hope I can re-record this.
Running out of free google drive storage - hate google, but since I'm already using it suppose my only other choice is YouTube... guess I better look into it.

Thanx!
I love my "Mortimer".
I like playing on all 5 strings and did so, very simply, in the Party room for the "Lilting Banshee" Party. I also recorded a couple tunes playing on the lower 4 strings - only have done a handful of videos in total.
Kind of surprised you haven't considered a 5-string violin!

I am a simple gal, I like my guitars to have 6 strings, my basses to have 4 strings, and same for my fiddles.
